I had seen the large house that Orion grew up in, of course. It was impossible to miss anytime I walked outside of our home. But Orion had been purposely avoiding me going anywhere near it, and I wasn’t complaining. Just something about the house gave me the chills, and I would be happy to avoid it altogether. Unfortunately, that was impossible. Still, I couldn’t help the nerves as Arden drove us up to the front of the intimidating mansion.

“Is your father going to be here?” I asked quietly as Orion helped me out of the car.

He grumbled at the mention of him. “He better fucking not be. But, if he is, don’t worry about him. I won’t let him touch you.”

I shivered. “Do you really think he’ll try? I feel like I disgust him.”

Orion shrugged one shoulder and took my hand. “Everyone disgusts him, honestly. And I don’t know for sure if he’ll try, but after that fucking stunt at the wedding, I won’t take my chances.”

My stomach sank at the reminder and I found myself pushing closer to my husband. “When we get home, can you spank me and then knot me? I need you tonight.”

Orion froze and I got a very distinct whiff of arousal before he turned to me. His big hand lightly wrapped around my throat, tilting my head back slightly, his eyes full of heat.

“I’m so proud of you for telling me that, kitten.” He tightened his grip just slightly. “I’ll be happy to take care of you when we get back home.”

A throat cleared from behind Orion. He whirled around, teeth bared, ready to destroy whoever was interrupting us, but stopped in his tracks when Arden very deliberately shot his eyes toward the house.

Three little pairs of eyes were watching us, fixated on every move. Behind them was a woman about my age, an alpha. She looked amused, despite her shaking her head at us.

“Can you keep it in your pants till you get back to your place, brother? There are children here.” The woman, presumably Orion’s sister Luna, was grinning, her eyebrow raised at her older brother.

Orion growled, but there was no malice behind it. “Kitten, meet the cause of all my stress and annoyance. Luna, this is my husband, Lyric.”

I smiled politely at her as she made her way from behind the brood of children to greet us. She looked like my mate, with the same thick coffee-colored hair, though hers flowed down to her mid-back, and gold eyes. She was shorter than Orion, of course, but towered over me and had the broad shoulders and solid build that was synonymous with female alphas. Her eyes were kind, though, and her smile warm as she came and greeted me with a tight hug.

Orion snarled and suddenly, I was being ripped out of his sister’s arms. She just shot him a dirty look as I was pushed behind him.

“Seriously? I’m not trying to take your omega.” Orion just snorted. He turned toward me, his nose buried in my mating bite.
